Majestic Mighty Power

- I hunt old toys with cool sounds to rescue, for circuit bending, in the flea market. Modern toys are harder to bent. The components are microscopic and disappear from the new integrated circuit. There is no much noise variation for million of different shapes of toys. The space ray gun, for example, still shares the same typical sounds but with different IC. Usually the batteries are flat when I reach the prey. I was surprised when I operated the autopsy in this Majestic Mighty Power space-gun. I knew it was an old animal because of the lighting bulb presence, instead of the contemporary leds, wishing to find a vintage integrated circuit with sounds easier to bend. There were no electronics under the plastic. The sound system was mechanical. The trigger connects a small motor to a screwed wheel with a percutor on the axe, hammering a blade over a plastic resonator. The sound is primitive like a Spootnik.

Encontré este ingenioso generador de sonido percusivo dentro de la pistola Majestic Mighty Power fabricada en Taiwan; sospecho que en los años ochenta. El motor gira una rueda con un martillo en el eje que viene a percutir una tira de metal sobre un tambor de plástico. Con esta tecnológica armamentista Taiwan sigue inmune al ciberacoso de su vecino continental.

- En fouillant dans les poubelles de Papa Noël, j'ai trouvé ce joli pistolet galactique des années quatre-vingt, façonné à Taiwan. Vous qui pensiez qu'il fabriquait ses jouets au pôle nord; vous voilà déçu. Il manquait une pièce, devant le viseur sur le canon, alors j'y ai accroché une guirlande lumineuse, comme sur votre sapin. Par contre, le son généré par un moteur percutant un tympan de plastique est d'origine. Je ne suis pas assez doué pour imaginer un truc pareil.
