Plastic People of the Universe

- los Fugs tenían a poetas Beat en sus filas, Tuli Kupferberg, Ed Sander y Allen Ginsberg de groupie. En consecuencia las letras de sus canciones reflejaban sus inquietudes por proyectar el Pentágono fuera de la órbita terrestre, liar un porro o ligar con súper poderes. La gente plástica del universo (Plastic People of the Universe) tenían a Ivan Jirous como letrista/manager y Vaclav Havel de groupie. Los Fugs no consiguieron levitar al bunker guiri mientras que PPU acabó directamente en el trullo. Al parecer las canciones de Ivan Jirous no gustaban al régimen pro-soviético de la República Checa invadida por los tanques. Por suerte la "revolución de terciopelo" rescató del underground a la banda más interesante de Praga. Ivan Jirous acaba de morir y aprovecho la esquela para recomendar el triple LP recopilatorio "Magic Nights"de PPU editado por Munster Records el año pasado. No entiendo las letras cantadas en checo, pero el tono de la voz, la música, los arreglos y la historia del grupo impactan como mínimo. El Rubio de la Prettty es fan y pronto lo será el Fabuloso Combo Espectro.
- Ivan Jirous est mort. Il était l'auteur des chansons du groupe chèque "Plastic People of the Universe", ce qui les conduisit directement à la case prison du régime pro-soviètique et anima Vaclav Havel, entre autres, à rédiger la Charte 77. Allez donc jeter une oreille dans le sillon en Plastique du Peuple de l'Univers. Munster Records a publié une trés bonne complilation l'année dernière.
- The Plastic People of the Universe were like the Fugs, a great rock band guided by poets, but with a much different luck. Both were singing against the establishment and the government. The Fugs reach the hip of the hippies, when PPU went to jail and underground. The lyrics of Ivan Jirous were too political for the pro-soviet state. Ivan died this week and you should listen to his band. The Munster Records compilation is a good example of the uncompromising music of the Plastic People of the Universe.
