- Paseando por la ciudad con los cinco gajos de mi naranja, buscando antiquísimos postes eléctricos donde colocar pegatinas de aluminium, encontramos este bonito toldo, cerca del Andén 0 de la Nave de Motores en Pacífico: Telas al Metro. Marqué el territorio en la tubería, mientras Carmen retrató el letrero. La tipografía pintada a mano sobre la lona contrasta con el logo esmaltado del Metro cercano. De vuelta en casa completo el alfabeto cortando, pegando la "piedra de Rosetta" del Pacífico. Simulo la lamina número 21 del curso tipográfico CEAC como la reproducción de la piedra en el andén Louvre Rivoli del metro de París. Todo de mentira.
- When younger I used to paint stencils in my neighbourhood. Now I follow the trend of the stickers. Mine are linocut engravings printed over aluminium masking tape. I like to let them shine over electric towers and gas tubes. While looking for a clever spot in Madrid suburbs I saw this nice lettering from a store. I imagined the rest of the alphabet and finished the typography with the computer. If I start to paint letters in the street, will it turn into a new urban artistic fashion?
- Je collectionne les fiches de lettrage du cour CEAC de dessin par correspondence. Elles sont souvent mal imprimées, parfois difformes mais conservent un grin et une texture bien plus naturels que la typographie de mon ordinateur. L'autre jour j'ai croisé ces jolies lettres sur le store d'un marchand de tissu. J'ai imaginé le reste de l'alphabet et ajouté cette fausse planche à ma collection.
